Fed Cup is TOMORROW! Are you ready?posted 05-20-11
We have had an excellent turnout for pre-registration this year. 2011 has the potential to be the biggest Fed Cup yet!
Just some friendly reminders:
-->Registration will be open at 6:30. You can register for the race, and pick up your bib and timing chip there.
-->Shirts and other Fed Cup goodies will be avaialble for pick up and purchase at the merch table.
-->DONT FORGET YOUR ID! You can't get on the DFC without a government issued photo ID.
-->Sorry, but pets (excluding service animals) are not allowed in DFC property.
-->You still need to show ID to a gate guard if you are walking or riding a bike on to the DFC.
-->Look for the Fed Cup 5K on Facebook! We want to be your friend!
-->T-shirts are nearly sold out. If you didn't pre-order one, we recommend getting to the merch table as soon as you can. Don't forget to pre-reg next year to guarantee your size! When the shirts are gone, they're gone!
Don't forget that the Fed Cup is supporting the Denver Fisher House Foundation this year. $1 of every entry will be donated to this wonderful cause. Be sure to look for the Fisher House info table for more information, and if you wish to make an additional contribution. Well- We're off to start setting up the park for all of you lovely folks. 2011- The Federal Cup 5K is approaching fast!posted 04-15-11Although the website has been a bit silent, we have been very busy! Not only are we back, but we are going to be better than ever! This year we will have chip timing to provide better and quicker scoring, and, because of popular demand, the Fed Cup is also now supporting a charitable cause!
Most importantly, you can REGISTER NOW at www.runningguru.com Want rapid race information? We have now have a Facebook page! Check it out today! If you register by April 29th you will be able to pick up your bid and chip at the distribution event on May 5, 2011 at the Denver Federal Center Bicentennial Park from 11am to 1pm. Registering early also guarantee you the shirt size you desire (if you plan to purchase one). The sizes of the t-shirts ordered after April 29th cannot be guaranteed. Remember to arrive at the event EARLY on race day. Race day registration and bib/chip pick-up will begin at 6:30 a.m. At 8:00 am we will have Coach Stacy Fowler, the State Coordinator for the President's Challenge, provide a special warm-up; you don't want to miss it!!! Also, there is still construction taking place on the Center and there probably will be delays. Arriving early will help to minimize race start delays. We will have a warm-up for the participants at 8am- you don’t want to miss it!!! The 2011 Charity: The Denver Fisher House Foundation. This year the Federal Cup 5K will be sponsoring a charity by providing one dollar of each paid entry to the charity. The Denver Fisher House Foundation builds and donates "Fisher Houses" at military/VA medical centers, supports existing houses, helps military families in need and awards scholarships for military children. Representatives from the Fisher House will be at the race day expo- they will love to chat about their organization! If you don’t want to run or walk the event- Why not Volunteer? If interested, go to the Federal Cup 5k at www.runningguru.com and look for the Volunteer button. The course map and a map of the available parking lots is available at RunningGuru No one likes to stand in lines when there is fun stuff to do- Don't be caught in a line on race day morning trying to get your bib and chip. If you register by Thursday April 28th you will be able to pick up your bib and chip at the Early Bid and Chip Distribution Event on Thursday May 5th at Bicentennial Park on the Denver Federal Center from 11am to 1pm. See you there!!! On race day please wear appropriate foot apparel; flip-flops are probably not a good idea. Although GSA has given us the go ahead to hold the event, the roads are not perfect- watch where you are walking or running at all times during the event. Let's keep everyone safe and injury free!!! Trying to decide which event you want to participate in? Remember this. You CAN walk in the run event but you CANNOT run in the walk event!!!! If you run in the walk event you will be disqualified.

The Steering Committee is thrilled to announce that not only will this event return this year, but that we will get to hold it once again on the Denver Federal Center!
