Fed Center Gate 1 Entry Tips

posted 05-14-09 || UPDATED 05-15-09

Enter at Gate 1. Gate 1 is located off of Kipling just south of 6th Avenue, and just north of Alameda. It is the main entrance to the Federal center and has three entry lane gate houses.

Don't forget your Government Issued ID. You will not be permitted to enter the Federal Center without it.

If you work on the Federal Center campus, and you have an entry access card. Use the MIDDLE (Employee) gate. You can swipe your card at the box to open the gate automatically. This will save time and reduce the entry traffic jams if everone who has this ability takes advantage of it. This gate will NOT be manned by a guard, so ONLY people with an entry card can use this gate.

Everyone else entering the center will need to show ID for entry. Use RIGHT (Deliveries) gate. This gate will be manned by a guard.

Don't forget! Dogs (and other pets) are not permitted on the Federal Center. If you bring a pet (other than a service animal) you will not be allowed to enter the campus.

If you are riding your bike onto the Fed Center, you MUST still stop at the gate for an ID check. Blowing past the entry gate will result in you getting chased down by the gate guard, and probably won't make the people in the cars stuck at the gate behind you very happy either. No matter how you choose to enter the Federal Center- driving, biking, walking- you MUST stop and show ID for entry.

Paper Pre-Reqistration is Now Closed

posted 05-11-09

May 8th was the last day for paper pre-registration forms to be submitted. Miss this deadline? Don't Fret! You can still pre-register using Active.com

Race Day registration is also available, but the entry fee increases from $10 to $15.

Bib Pick-Up Day a Success!

posted 05-11-09

The Fed Cup held its pre-race bib pick up opportunity on May 7th. Approximately 100 bibs were picked up early! So, about 1/3 of all pre-registered entrants won't need to wait in the registration line this year!

New 2009 Race Course!

posted 04-22-09

We have completed mapping and measuring out the new course for 2009. To view the map, and to download a printer-friendly version, please visit our Race Map page.

Course Changes are Coming!

posted 04-16-09

GSA just informed us that parts of 8th street will be closed due to construction on race day. That means we're currently out re-designing and measuring a new course. As soon as we have it measured and mapped, we'll post it here.

We apologize for this change, as we know the course last year was well liked. Hopefully we'll be able to return to that course in a future Fed cup.

Date Finalized for Pre-Race Bib Pick-up

posted 04-16-09

The pick-up day wil be Thursday, May 7th,2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Bicentennial Park (Where the race is held) on the Denver Federal Center at 6th & Kipling in Lakewood, CO.

If you want to have the option to pick up your bib then, your entry MUST be in the system by COB May 1st. That means all Active.com entires must be in by COB May 1st, and the paper entries need to be mailed to us with sufficient time for us to input them into the system by May 1st. Since postal times vary, we suggest getting your paper application mailed or dropped off to us before April 27 to ensure you meet this deadline.

Be careful you don't loose your bib before the race! Once you pick it up, it's yours, and the Fed Cup is not responsible for lost bibs after they have been picked up.

If your entry is recieved after May 1st, your bib will be waiting for you on race day.

We're working on finalizing some additional entertainment as well. We can't guarantee we'll get it yet, but do plan on bringing a camera, as a fun photo opportunity is in the works.

Tired of Those Race Day Pick-up Lines?

posted 03-13-09

You hate the race day bib pick-up lines. We hate them too. We're always looking for ways to improve the race day pick-up, and thanks to the support and cooperation from our new timing company, we think we have created an opportunity that could make a lot of people happy!

If we have recieved your application before May 1st, 2009 you now have the opportunity to pick up your bib before the race!

On Thursday, May 7th, 2009, 11-1 pm, the Fed Cup will set up a table (location on the Fed Center is still pending). At this table we'll have all the race bibs available for anyone who registered before May 1st. If you're in the area, just stop by, and we'll get you your bib. It's that easy! Team representatives can even pick up the bibs for their entire team.

Be careful you don't loose your bib before the race! Once you pick it up, it's yours, and the Fed Cup is not responsible for lost bibs after they have been picked up.

If you register after May 1st, your bib will be waiting for you on race day.

Active.com ONLINE Registration Available

posted 03-13-09

This year, the Fed Cup will be subsidizing part of the Active.com sign up fee. That means it's only $1.25 to use Active.com to sign up for the race.

Registration on Active will be avaialable until noon on May 14th, 2009. All registration after that date must be done on race day. Paper applications must be received by May 8th, 2009.

2009 Paper Entry Form Now Available

posted 02-20-09

Ready to sign up? The paper entry form is now available for download, and will be attached to our newsletters. We've made some changes to the form that we hope will make it easier to use. Just right-click the link in the race info box and choose "Save Target As" to save the form to your computer.

Pending some last minute verifications with our timing company, the Active.com link will be activated soon.

The 2009 Fed Cup is on Its Way!

posted 02-17-09

Planning is in full swing for this year's fun event. Our 2008 race, celebrating our 25th running, was our best yet, and it will be hard to follow such a successful bash. We're working hard to make 2009 just as memorable. We listened to the comments you made in the post race survey, and are doing what we can to make the suggested improvements. Please bookmark this page, and visit often as updates will be coming regularly.

One of the biggest questions we've been asked since the last race is, "Where are all of the photos?" We're still working with the new gallery software, but sadly, the delay in posting them has come down to time. This event is organized by a small band of dedicated volunteers, and sometimes there's just not enough time to get everything done. The photo archives will not be abandoned, they are just on hiatus until we can organize, upload, and tag hundreds of photos. Thank you for your patience, and if you think you can help us with this project, or other Fed Cup projects, please consider becoming a Fed Cup VOLUNTEER.
