Sadly, the 501st Mountain Garrison will not be joining us tomorrow after all. There were some unforseen schedule conflicts. But, there's always next year!

Tomorrow looks to be a beautiful day, and we can't wait to see all of you. As of right now, we have broken our attendance record, and there's more to come tomorrow! Get ready to have some fun!

Have you registered yet?

posted 04-24-08

The day is fast approaching! Have you turned in your entry form yet? Well, what are you waiting for? There's no excuse since there are so many ways to enter:

  • Regular mail - just fill out the form, include your payment, and mail it to the address at the bottom of the form. Remember! The entry form must be received by May 9th, and all paper team entries must be submitted together.

  • Drop Box - At the Wellness Center located on the DFC campus, building 75, is a locked drop box. If you're in the area, swing on by and drop your entry and payment in the box. The last collection time for the drop box will be noon on May 16th. All paper team entries must be submitted together.

  • In Person - If you are on the Fed Center Campus, you can hand the entry form and payment in person to one of several committee members also on the campus. Use the information on the contacts page to make arrangements, if interested. Again, all paper team entries must be submitted together, and must be given to a committee member no later than noon on May 15th.

  • Active.com - online registration is open 24/7 until noon on May 16th. This is an excellent option if you want to pay by credit card. And remember, the first 150 people to use active will receive a surprise FREE GIFT.

  • Race Day - If you're unable to pre-register using any of the methods above, no worries! You can always register at the park on race day, but the entry fee increases to $10. The $8 entry fee applies to pre-registration only.
  • Spread the Word!

We're hoping to mark our 25th running with record attendance, and you can help us get the word out. We have two poster sizes available for download (just right-click and select "save target as"). Now, all we need are places to put 'em! Just print a few and put them in the common areas of your agency or component office- break rooms, announcement boards, etc. Just be sure to get permission first, if need be.

    FREE GIFT Information

    posted 04-02-08

There has been some confusion about the free gift we're giving away to the first 150 people to register on Active.com.

Just to be clear, the free gift is NOT a magazine subscription, some sort of gift card promo, or a discount off of other Active.com events! Those are solely Active.com offers, and we have no affiliation with those promotions.

Our FREE GIFT is a very nice 25th running commemorative item. What is it? Well, that's just one of the many surprises in store for this year, but we promise it's cool!

How will you know if you're one of the first 150? Just go to the merchandise table on race day and ask. We'll have a list direct from Active with the 150 names eligible for the free gift. Come at any time during the event to claim your prize.

    Door Prize Announcement

    posted 03-14-08

Every year our sponsors always provide us with lots of very nice door prizes, but this year we've received a prize we need to tell you about in advance.

The City of Lakewood has donated a Gift Certificate for the Homestead at Fox Hollow Golf Course! This prize, valued at $200, is redeemable for green fees & carts for four!

So, how do you enter the door prize drawing? It's easy! The door prize ticket is already attached to your race bib. Just rip off that tag (and ONLY that tag) and bring it to the merchandise table. The collection canister will be there. You can drop the tag off before or after the race, and we'll annouce a "last call" for entries before the drawings begin. Good luck!

Stay tuned for more Door Prize announcements!

There's a lot of activity on the website these days, and you'll be pleased to learn there's plenty more to enjoy.

Thanks to the kindness of Ken Furlow, we now have a copy of the results of the very first Fed Cup in 1984. To take a look, please visit the results page. We may have grown since then, but those times are still tough to beat!!!

The latest newsletter is now available. Contact us if you wish to be added to the mailing list.

The downlaodable entry form is now available. You can find it to the left in the info box on this page, and a link in the race info page.

    Lots of new content!

    posted 02-19-08

It's time to rediscover this website as a lot of long promised content has been added. The RACE INFO section now features an article describing the genesis of this race. As we approach the 25th running, it's a fascinating look back at how this all began.

You can see the the new 2008 course map and elevation chart in the "RACE MAP" area. Yet more construction on the Denver Federal Center has forced us to change the course from last year. So, look hard, but don't worry- we'll mark the course well on race day.

The "HALL OF FAME" now contains the top male and female finishes since 1994, as well as the overall top 100 finishes since 1994. The same information will be posted for the walkers soon.

What's coming? Glad you asked. Photos are coming! In Herds! In Droves! In slide show form... We'll let you know when they'll debut. A newsletter will also be distributed soon, so watch your inbox.

    2008 Updates Begin!

The 2008 race markes the 25th RUNNING of the Federal Cup 5k, and we are planning quite the celebration. As all the plans come together, we'll post them here. This race will be one to remember, so don't miss out! You can sign up right now using Active.com. Click HERE to go directly to our online application. This year teams can sign up online too! If you still prefer the paper form, a new streamlined version will be posted soon.
