2011 Fed Cup Survey Now Available
posted 03-16-10
The Steering Committee is working to ensure that we have a location for the 2011 Fed Cup. We will be discussing the 2011 event with the Federal Center Property Manager in late 2010 to determine if the Fed Cup will be permitted back on the Federal Center, or if we will need to host it elsewhere.
We want to be prepared if we are unable to hold the event at the Denver Federal Center in 2011 and need to use an alternate location, so please contribute your thoughts and suggestions by clicking on the link below and completing a short, 10 question survey.

This survey will remiain open until April 16, 2010.
Fed Cup 5K 2010 is on the way!
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
posted 03-01-10
Your Fed Cup planning committee has been hard at work for months planning the 2010 Federal Cup 5K. Unfortunately, about one week ago, we received news from the Federal Center Property Manager, GSA, that is requiring us to cancel the 2010 event.
GSA stated that, "Due to the Utility Infrastructure Project and President Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act projects (ARRA) that have started or will start within the next month we will not be able to grant approval for this year's Fed Cup race. We [GSA] will not approve any of the road races that normally take place on the DFC during spring and summer months. There are too many safety concerns with road closures and unknowns regarding construction logistics to try and make this happen this year."
After the decision by GSA, the Steering Committee looked for other alternative locations to hold the race. The options were either insufficient for our needs, already booked for the entire year, or financially and logistically prohibitive for the 500+ participants in the short time available. This is the first time in the event's 26 year history that the race has been cancelled, and it is with very heavy hearts that Steering Committee came to this decision. This race is quite dear to us and the Federal Community. Cancelling the 2010 race was our last option.
We want to sincerely thank everyone for their interest in this race and hope you will continue to join us in 2011. We will be rolling all of our 2010 pre-planning into the 2011 race, and with the extra time, plan on making 2011 the best one yet!
Between now and the 2011 race, we plan on implementing some improvements into this website, and launching Twitter and Facebook accounts to help keep all of you wonderful participants informed about what's happening with the Fed Cup.
We will also be putting up a link to an online survey soon so that you can provide your comments and help us plan the 2011 Federal Cup 5K.
In 2011 the race WILL go on. We hope to see you all there! Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
Fed Cup 5K 2010 is on the way!

Planning is in full swing for this year's event! Please check back regularly for updates, info, and tips for this year's race. On-line and paper registration will be available soon.
For our first announcement of the year, we'd like to let you know that 2010 will be the first year that the Federal Cup 5k will use chip timing. We're always looking for ways to improve the timing of our event, and the Fed Cup has now grown to a size where chip timing is a viable option. This timing method will require a few changes to the usual registration system, but we'll keep you posted every step of the way. We're fairly excited for this change, and we hope you are too!
As the Fed Cup continues to grow, so does our need for volunteers! If you would like to help us out, let us know. We have volunteer opportunities for all time commitments.
